Kala Art Institute - Print Public
It has always been our aim to make art that would hopefully inspire and connect people.
With the Print Public project we felt that it would be the perfect opportunity for us to explore a new area and give back to the community different thoughtful quotes of unity and love. While walking around the San Pablo corridor we noticed that some areas are very diverse with a lot of great energy. Since we believe diversity feeds the creativity and East Bay has always being a hub of very inspiring movements/eras with a wide spectrum of peace and social justice. It was with all this in mind that we chose the images for this project and added quotes taken from various sources as lyrics from East Bay musician/poet Michael Franti, and other inspiring words that we came across.
But like everywhere else in the Bay Area changes in demographics are also present. Finding random empty wall spaces here and there, we felt that they were perfect canvas to leave a visual impact in colorful palettes and messages. Hopefully people who pass or drive by will feel like these pieces are inspiring surprise elements in their daily paths.
